Welcome To My Website!

You have reached my personal website, which I have created to get in touch with others, and to make my work more publicly accessible.

Who Am I?

Currently, I am a Professor of English at Berkeley College, in New Jersey. I teach a wide range of courses on literature and composition. Before joining the faculty at Berkeley, I taught at Rutgers University, Brookdale Community College, and Raritan Valley Community College.

I received my doctorate in English Literature from Rutgers in October 2016, and have been teaching college-level writing for the past 9 years. I have published in topics as diverse as 18th-century understandings of allegory, using self-reflexive novels to teach writing-as-process in the undergraduate classroom, being a Teaching Assistant, and incorporating popular culture texts such as Inside Out into the classroom. My writing has appeared or is forthcoming in the journals Literary ImaginationPedagogy, and Dialogue: The Interdisciplinary Journal of Popular Culture and Pedagogy as well as the essay collections Reflection on Academic Lives: Identities, Struggles, and Triumphs in Graduate School and Beyond (Palgrave Macmillan) and Allegory Studies (Routledge).

I am always working on new stuff. At the moment, I am working on an article on teaching critical thinking with a videogame, on a short story about connecting with others through cell phones, and some other projects. I believe in keeping busy!
